the earth eclipses the sunlight
passing between the star and her satellite,
the silver body darkens,
extinguishing the pale light
which illuminates
the poacher no longer,
allowing him to
catch the fish
previously alerted
by his form standing
on the bank, casting a wan
shadow across the sleepy river.

This moon eclipse signifies peace……nice poem….
Thanks Baljinder, peace to you too.
What a beautiful an simple poem. Keep writing like it!
Hi Mariana, good to see you
Thank you, I’ll try and write some more short and simple ones.
Really enjoyed the lines, “which illuminates
the poacher no longer,
allowing him to
catch the fish
previously alerted
by his form standing
on the bank”
That’s some really good stuff, Paul.
Thanks Bryan. I was remembering playing beside the river, in the moonlight, when I was a child; magical times indeed.
Dig the photo and poem..hey, where did you get the spinning tag thingy..That is just too cool!
Hey Bindo, thanks.
It’s a wordpress widget called WP-Cumulus. You can get it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-cumulus/
I don’t know if it is available in other blog formats.
Really beautiful poem Paul! Looks like I have a load of poems to read and catch up on. Thanks for sharing your words, they bring so much, even on this side of Golden pond
Thank you for your comments, Doubtfulpoet. Glad you liked reading this. Best wishes from the cold side of the pond.
